Ok Just His Mommy readers, I have a product that I love that is worth sharing with you. Not only is it healthier for your body, but I have found it to also be more economical. Sorry if I have any male readers, but this product is for the women out there that still get their monthly friend. The Instead Soft Cup has been a delight and I have used it for 3 period cycles so far. I can honestly say I like it better than tampons, which we know aren’t always the best thing for you. I have never been a fan of pads so this was a no brainier for me. Check out this chart below for the comparisons:
Instead Soft Cup is literally a cup that catches everything so yeah it is kind of messy taking it out. The best thing to do is to make sure you are sitting on the toilet. I used the Nuva Ring at one point so insertion and removal was a breeze for me. Once removed you can empty the cup or dispose of it. The Soft Cup can be purchased in either the disposable or reusable form so it really depends on your preference. The color and material differ, but I can honestly say I reuse the disposable version at least twice before discarding. It seems to work just fine for me and I have yet to have an accident. I always wear a panty liner just as an extra precaution.
My box of 14 cups cost me $5.98 at Walmart and I don’t know about you, but to me that is a pretty good deal. Considering the amount of tampons I was going thru, the Soft Cup has helped me cut cost in this area. When using tampons, I have to buy the light, regular and super tampons for my monthly cycle. Plus I was using pads when sleeping during the really heavy days. The Instead Soft Cup has been a dream for me so far and I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a much healthier product.
Bonus Alert!!!! It is quite comfortable for my partner and I during sex which is amazing!!!! What other menstrual product do you know of that can be used during sex? He can feel it but says it isn’t annoying and yes we have a towel down just to make sure nothing gets on the sheets. Warning- Do not try to use this as a form of birth control because that is not what it is made for. This informative video will show you just how easy it is to use.
I hope you find this post beneficial and I would love to get your feedback if you have used the Instead Soft Cup.
When my little one was born he suffered thorough a bad case of eczema that caused his skin to be discolored. Around this time I was already becoming more aware of the type of skin and hair care products I was using. The doctors’ wanted me to put steroid cream and other expensive medicated products on him that didn’t really work. Out of frustration and wanting to be socially consious of the chemicals I was putting on my son, I began to do my own research on natural remedies for eczema.
Through this research I discover black soap, shea butter, and coconut oil are great nautural remedies for eczema. They keep skin and hair moisturized and feeling soft. By switching to more natural products, my little one has not had an outbreak in over two years. Now you can not even tell his skin was discolored because of his eczema flare ups.
It is easy to find shea butter, black soap, and coconut oil based products so it is very important to read the ingredients on the packaging. For example, if you buy shea butter lotion and it is not listed as one of the first few ingredients; most likely it is only a small percentage in the product. If this is the case you are wasting your money. For this reason I prefer to buy my shea butter and coconut oil in raw form to get the most nutrients.
If you happen to use any of these products please let me know how they work out for you and share where you find them for others in your area. In my experience shopping local has been the most cost effective method when buying these natural remedies for eczema. They tend to be more expensive in major retailers.
Please share your skin care regime to fight eczema breakouts if you have one.
The health benefits of real coconut oil are endless. Not the stuff that’s laced with a bunch of other things, but pure coconut oil. In our household we use it for cooking, skin and hair care. Three uses out of one product is a pretty good deal if you ask me. Our brand of choice is Spectrum Naturals Organic Coconut Oil. It is 100% all coconut oil with nothing added or at least that’s what the label says. It is bottled in a facility that also bottles peanut oil as an FYI. The cheapest place I have found it so far is at Walmart for at 6.98 for a 14oz jar.
My initial purchase was for an all natural moisturizer to help with my son’s eczema. So far it has helped keep it under control in combination with other things we use for his skin care regime. I also use it for my hair since I made the transition of being a natural beauty instead of using such harsh products. It helps keep our hair and skin very soft and moisturized. Unless you are really into smelling like coconut I highly recommend purchasing the unrefined version of coconut oil. Unrefined coconut oil is pure and has not been altered with bleach or deodorizes to give it that strong smell. Pure coconut oil is light in taste and scent. Because of it not being chemically processed, it is very important to heat before consuming like suggested on the package.
I am not a doctor so please consult a physician, but here are a few more things coconut oil is know to help improve: calcium to help teeth and bones, Alzheimer’s, weight loss, diabetes and heart disease. If you are currently using coconut oil or plan to, please share your story.
This is not a paid sponsor just a product we like to use.
